Description

I’ve been getting a massage for many years from day spas to eventually getting a membership at a spa for massages. A few weeks ago, a good friend of mine asked if I wanted to go to a spa that she’s been going to for a few years. She advised that this is not a traditional spa I would usually go to – this is an Asian spa.

So what exactly is an Asian spa? Well, let me tell you about Fit Foot, an Asian spa in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago (close to DePaul University). It’s a spa where you get your massage in a large room with several massage beds with other people. Fit Foot does not have individual/private massage rooms. You are fully clothed during the massage. Their massage therapists are from Asia. I went there with four girlfriends and we got our massages in this room. We had 90-minute massages that combined reflexology, shiatsu, and a full body massage. My massage therapist was awesome! She used ancient techniques that’s been used for centuries.

If you decide to visit Fit Foot, let the front desk know before you go into the room the type of massage you prefer (firm, deep, etc.). Make sure to wear comfortable clothes. I would recommend wearing loose pants (so you can roll them up to your knees), and a short sleeved shirt or tank top. The spa is clean with a very simple design. The 90-minute massage is $48 + tip (tip is cash only) and $2 for a scented eye mask.
